BUILDING
HUMANIST COMMUNITY

Human beings are social animals, and we often feel the need to get together to find support, learn new things, meet new people, and work together for a common cause. Very often we just want to get together to relax and have fun with like-minded people.

Humanists UK has groups around the country providing a range of events and activities in your communities. Humanist groups have a variety of activities, and give you the opportunities for:

  • Meeting and socialising with like minded people, as well as promoting humanism in your local community.
  • Campaigning on humanist issues, as well as learning, exchanging ideas, and debating issues.
  • Representing humanist views in local decision making and volunteering and engaging in our social action.

Local Groups

Humanists UK Local Groups are communities organised by a local team of Humanists UK volunteers. They bring non-religious people together to be happier and more fulfilled and to be a force for good in their communities. These groups are a part of Humanists UK, and committee volunteers are provided with ongoing support and learning and development opportunities.

Local Groups are marked on the above map. Our current Local Groups are:

As well as having Local Groups, Humanists UK is affiliated with a number of other humanist Partner Groups in towns and cities around the UK which also put on public events. These groups are also featured on the map above.

Other humanist events and meet-ups

As well as the events organised by Humanists UK Local Groups, Humanists UK and its special interest networks and sections (such as LGBT Humanists, Young Humanists, and Humanist Climate Action) organise events around the UK. Many of these are listed under the ‘Community’ tab of our UK-wide events listings.

There are also a number of other humanist groups associated with Humanists UK, such as party-political humanist groups, which also organise events from time to time.
