How evolution gave us free will | Northern Ireland Humanists
Book now
According to David Hume, the question of the nature of free will is 'the most contentious question of metaphysics.' The debate among scientists and philosophers about whether we have free will is heating up as research in neuroscience is exploding. As technological advancements blur the lines between humans and machines, the concept of free will becomes increasingly complex.
Kevin Mitchell is well placed to help us explore this fascinating area of knowledge. Kevin is Associate Professor of Genetics and Neuroscience at Trinity College Dublin. He is a graduate of the Genetics Department, Trinity College Dublin (B.A., Mod. 1991) and has also studied at University of California at Berkeley and at Stanford University. His books include Innate: How The Wiring of Our Brain Shapes Who We Are.
