Campaigning at GE2024
Here are some graphics highlighting some of our top asks of the political parties as we go into the General Election, and in the weeks that follow as we meet with officials from the government and opposition.
Analysis of party manifestos
We’ve provided in-depth analyses of where the party stands on key humanist issues that could be decided by the outcome of the general election.
Combined analysis: all major parties
We’ve produced a table comparing the policies of Labour, the Conservatives, Reform UK, the Lib Dems, the SNP, and Plaid Cymru.
In-depth: Labour Party Manifesto
What Labour’s Manifesto does and and doesn’t say on humanist issues.
In-depth: Conservative Party Manifesto
What the Conservative Manifesto does and and doesn’t say on humanist issues.
In-depth: Liberal Democrat Manifesto
What the Lib Dem Manifesto does and and doesn’t say on humanist issues.
In-depth: Green Party of England and Wales Manifesto

Northern Ireland parties
We’ve produced a table comparing the policies of the DUP, Sinn Fein, Alliance, the SDLP, the Green Party, and People Before Profit.
Party comparison grid
Drawn from our analysis of all the major parties, this is an at-a-glance Grid to show where the parties running in 2024 stand on a number of Humanists UK priority issues.
Doorstep and hustings guides
We’ve produced some guides to help you hold your local candidates to account in person, such as when they knock on your door, or at local hustings.
Outreach campaign
We need your help to make inroads with tomorrow’s MPs – and persuade the political parties to show greater support for humanists, Humanists UK campaigns, humane values, and democratic ideals like a secular state.
With so many MPs standing down and many new faces running for election, this is not just our opportunity to influence the parties running in the general election, but to introduce them to our work for a better society. We can all agree that there’s too little kindness, too little reason, and too much chauvinism and narrow-mindedness in UK politics today. Will you help us?
More humanism in politics
Another way to get involved is to advance humanist values, ideas, and policies within the major parties. Humanists UK is non-party-political, but offers support to groups advocating humanist values within several major parties.
