While we humanists don't celebrate Christmas in the religious sense, it has become an important marker in the calendar for secular people, with a chance to relax and spend time with family and friends, enjoying good food and good cheer. Celebrating light and togetherness during the long dark winter is something humans have done for millennia. Christmas celebrations amalgamated with various pagan traditions to become the Christmas we know and love today. Whether you want to call it Saturnalia, Yule, Midwinter or just a good excuse to have a knees-up, join us this December for a drink, a chat and a pub quiz!
