At this meeting, we’ll be thinking about future events, activities, projects and ways to make our local humanist community even more welcoming and active. You don’t need to be a seasoned volunteer or have everything figured out – you may have no idea what you’d like to do but would just like to help. Whatever brings you along, you’ll be very welcome! 

Over the past two years, we’ve enjoyed some fascinating guest speakers, lively discussions, quiz nights and coffee mornings. But that’s just the beginning! There are so many more possibilities, and we’d love to hear your thoughts about what we could do next.

We want to organise more social events, take humanism out onto the streets, get involved in local campaigns, build stronger links with the University and civic life, and hold meetings in locations beyond Oxford. These are just a few possibilities. What would you like to see? What would encourage you to get more involved? We also need new volunteers to join our committee; to take up posts that people have vacated for personal reasons.

We’ll be discussing all this at our planning social on 10th November, and everyone is welcome. You don’t need to arrive with a plan — just bring your thoughts, ideas and enthusiasm! Many hands make light work — and many ideas make a more vibrant humanist community! We know how much people value having a humanist group here in Oxford. Let’s build on that enthusiasm and make sure Oxford Humanists continues to grow, thrive and reach more people. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided.

More about the Venue: The North Oxford Community Centre Annexe will be open from 19:15. There is parking close by at Summertown Car Park or Ferry Car Park. The No.14 Bus runs from Oxford Railway Station to Summertown every ~15 minutes.
