Join us and humanist celebrant Ewan Main for this brief dash through the world of humanist ceremonies: what celebrants do, how and why they create ritual and symbolism, with examples and stories taken from fourteen years as a practicing celebrant.
The talk will also provide an update on the upcoming marriage reforms and what they might mean for us as a society.
Ewan is a humanist celebrant in York, having conducted weddings, namings and funerals for fourteen years alongside various other careers. As well as mentoring new celebrants, he is currently Co-Chair of Humanists UK’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Action Group.
Whether you are a humanist, humanist-curious and just interested in learning more about the work of a celebrant - you can be sure of a warm welcome. The event is free to attend, but if you are able to make a donation we would be enormously grateful as this helps us to put on more events like this in the future.
Look forward to seeing you there!
