What?
This session will:
- share new guidance on including humanist perspectives at GCSE, developed in conjunction with all major exam boards;
- help you support your pupils in better demonstrating their understanding of a humanist or non-religious perspective in exam responses;
- share examiners' insights into top grade responses on humanist perspectives.
Who?
The course is especially designed for teachers of GCSE Religious Studies, and RE leaders.
Why?
We know from exam boards that students’ answers about non-religious worldviews are often weak and cost them marks:
‘Candidates should avoid mis-representing the non-religious beliefs of Atheists and Humanists; some seemed to think that not believing in God meant they had no principles or ethical views on anything’

This session will show you how to support your pupils to improve their answers on the non-religious, thereby empowering them to better showcase their understanding of humanist perspectives, and achieve higher marks for these responses as a result.
