Chris Price
Head of Music at BBC Radio 1
Radio 1 and 1Xtra are the BBC's flagship youth radio networks, reaching around 40 per cent of young UK listeners every week, with a focus on breaking new music and helping to discover, develop and launch new artists. As the Head of Music for both stations, Chris heads the creative and editorial strategy for music policies, ensuring the BBC delivers the right content on the right platforms for young audiences.
Chris has over fifteen years experience in music strategy, having worked at Sony, Warner, Radio 1, MTV, BT, New Slang Media, and Last.fm.
Chris has long been a supporter of Humanists UK and our efforts to make the UK a fairer and more secular place, and he written about the value of Humanism as an ethical life stance based on reason, rationality and compassion. He wrote in a 2012 Huffington Post article that if you identify as non-religious and '...you're someone who goes about their life trying hard to "do the right thing", welcome along - you’re a humanist.'
