2022%2002%2018%20v1%20IS%20Exodus%20of%20Ideology.pngJoin Jake Jameson as he carries us through his own personal journey of living, losing, and leaving his former life inside of the Jehovah’s Witnesses religion.

In this outline, we discover what it’s like growing up separated from normal society outside looking in, what can lead people in to such groups and eventually what can bring them out if anything at all. Learn about the darker underbelly of this seemingly cheery group. Jake's talk will cover insider vs outsider doctrine and a culture that has seen many controversies  – including allegations such as the blood doctrine, shunning, and child sexual abuse, and he will ask what it really means to sign your life away to a high-control religion. Take a peek behind the curtain and learn why so many today are now speaking up about their former religion, with plenty of time after for questions.

Find out about Humanists UK's work to help those who have left or are leaving high-control religions or cults, through Faith to Faithless.
