The British Humanist Association has just released Early Bird tickets for the BHA Convention 2017, hosted in the city of Cambridge over the weekend of 9–11 June.
It promises to be the most open BHA Convention to date, with a limited number of tickets from just £39 for students, and £89 for BHA members.
The initial line-up is the largest ever for a BHA Convention, with twelve speakers announced, including BBC science broadcaster Helen Czerski, social psychologist Karen Douglas, human rights and counter-extremism activist Sara Khan, environmentalist Mark Lynas, along with theoretical physicist Jim Al-Khalili and BHA Chief Executive Andrew Copson, with more still to be announced over the coming weeks and months.
Presentations, talks, and panel discussions will be organised by the Defence Humanists, Faith to Faithless, the London Humanist Choir, Young Humanists, and by LGBT Humanists – who will be exploring the realities of LGBT refugees and asylum seekers.
And the weekend will be launched with an evening of entertainment on the Friday, compèred by comedian and BHA Patron Robin Ince.
The Convention is open to everyone, with Early Bird ticket prices from £99 for the general public, £89 for BHA members, and just £39 for students.
BHA Chief Executive Andrew Copson said, ‘We are delighted to be in Cambridge for our biggest ever Convention. Cambridge has a vibrant history of radical and inspiring humanist thought. We look forward to welcoming everyone from across the country and beyond, to join us for a weekend of ideas, entertainment, and celebration of the one life we have.’
