Mae Cymdeithas Dyneiddwyr Prydain (The British Humanist Association) exhibited at the Plaid Cymru annual conference for the second year running, with BHA member Alun Jones staffing the BHA stand at the conference in Llandudno, North Wales.
Naomi Phillips, BHA Public Affairs Officer, said, ‘Having a presence at political conferences allows the BHA to reach out to new, engaged audiences, and gain new members and supporters. It is also an important contribution both to our campaigns work, where we seek to influence policy in favour of humanist values – equality, rights and justice for example – and to our aims to promote and educate about Humanism as an ethical lifestance.’
‘Attending the Plaid Cymru conference, where we had a Welsh-speaking representative and informational material published in Welsh, allows us to develop our influence, reputation and representation as the national organisation representing the interests of the non-religious. We were delighted that Plaid Cymru MPs and Assembly Members (AM) visited our stand and about the positive reception that we received from delegates.’
