BHA at prestigious fundraising awards

6 July, 2009

The BHA’s Andrew Copson and Hanne Stinson will tonight be representing the Atheist Bus Campaign at the prestigious Institute of Fundraising National Awards.  The adverts which were run on buses around the UK and on the London Underground in January 2009 have been shortlisted for the award for the Most Innovative Fundraising Campaign.  The slogan of the campaign, ‘There is Probably no God, now stop worrying and enjoy your life,’ has since inspired other similar slogans outside of the UK.

The award ceremony will be held at the Hilton London Metropole and the Atheist Bus Campaign is up against the Cord Blood Campaign by the  Anthony Nolan Trust and the Generations for Generations campaign by the NSPCC (Childline) and Help the Aged.

Andrew Copson, Director of Education and Public Affairs commented, “We are very excited to be part of such a fantastic event. The campaign really took off in the public’s imagination and became such a huge phenomenon. It would be great to win the award in recognition of all the hard work that went into it.”
