The British Humanist Association (BHA) has responded to a survey published today which found that around one in six therapists had attempted to “cure” their gay patients.
Andrew Copson, BHA Director of Education and Public Affairs, said, ‘Being gay is not a problem to be “cured”. That a significant minority of the therapists surveyed had attempted to “cure” their gay patients of their sexual orientation is nothing short of brutal.’
