in association with
The Humanists And Non-religious in Defence (HAND) network will be delivering its annual remembrance service. This year it will be held at the RAF Club on Saturday 12th November from 13:30-14:30 with refreshments afterwards until 16:30.
The annual service, now in its eighth year, provides a forum for humanist and non-religious military personnel, veterans, family members, and everyone who has been affected by war, to commemorate the fallen, in a manner that aligns with their worldview and philosophical belief.
In light of the recent passing of Her Majesty, the Queen, the theme of this year’s service is focused around ‘Duty’ and ‘Service’, two values that Her Majesty exemplified throughout her 70-year reign.
This year our speakers include distinguished members of the humanist and non-religious community, as well as members of the Ministry of Defence including:
Major General Hans De Ceuster – Chaplain in Chief of the Belgian Armed Forces
Andrew Copson – Chief Executive of Humanists UK
Air Vice Marshal Rich Maddison OBE – Humanist And Non-religious in Defence (HAND) network champion
Members of the Humanist Chaplaincy from the Dutch Armed Forces
Patrons of Humanists UK
Members of the UK Ministry of Defence
Members of Royal Hospital Chelsea
Members of the Cadets
The London Humanist Choir
