'Humanism and the climate crisis' with Lori Marriott | Oxford Humanists
Part of our monthly Oxford Humanists Speaker Programme, held on the second Tuesday of each month. We expect to get close to venue capacity so please register to hold your place!
Our April Talk: 'Humanism and the climate crisis' with Lori Marriott, Humanist Climate Action Coordinator @ Humanists UK
Our Speaker: Lori Marriott has been the Coordinator of Humanist Climate Action, a volunteer-led network of Humanists UK members and supporters, since August 2021. She is passionate about promoting environmentalism within the humanist movement and putting humanist values into practice to tackle environmental degradation and the climate crisis. Lori has campaigned on environmental issues for many years, previously volunteering for the Green Party and several environmental NGOs. Lori has previously spoken about our shared responsibility to care for the planet on a Faith & Belief Forum Earth Day podcast, and contributed to the Understanding Humanism textbook.
We are thrilled to host Lori in Oxford in April and we hope you'll register to join us for what promises to be an interesting and informative topic. This event is free to join, however we do request registration to help us manage numbers with the venue and, as always, any donations you are able to contribute, will support our running costs.
Not sure if this is for you or have questions about the event? Please get in touch with Andrew, our Events Manager; we'd love to hear from you at events-oxford@humanistbranches.uk. For those interested in joining us for further discussion and dinner directly following Lori's talk, we will book tables next door at Lula's Ethiopian and Eritrean Cafe - send us an email to signal your interest!
More about the Venue: The Community Works will be open by 18:15 on the night. Please access the venue via the well-lit accessible alley just to the left of 1 Becket Street. If the weather is chilly, we do recommend bringing an extra layer.
We hope to see you there!
