The origins of people living in Ireland has been a hotly debated topic as our perceived identity impacts on the politics of the island. But our perceptions are often wrong and the truth is more interesting.

To celebrate Darwin Day 2024, we will explore the evolution of people in Ireland through their genetic history. Our speaker, Dan Bradley, was brought up on a Northern Irish farm and for over 30 years he has researched the genetics of each species present on that farm, including humans. Dan was awarded the 2020 Royal Irish Academy Gold Medal in the Life Sciences and holds a Personal Chair in Population Genetics in Trinity.
