Craftivism and Creativity: a talk by South Devon Stitchers | Exeters Humanists
In Jean's words: "Being creative is beneficial in so many ways so please join me as I talk about my journey in crafting which has taken me all over the region teaching, learning and making lifelong friends. The benefits have been many and varied - on a personal level and within the crafting community, for the organisations and people i work with as well as for the local environment."
South Devon Stitchers is an independent group for anyone interested in embroidery, textiles and textile art based in Kingskerswell. During lockdown, they created a series of three detailed textile panels showcasing roughly 50 endangered species in Devon as well as highlighting the decline in local flora and fauna. The panels aim to raise awareness of local, threatened wildlife and since their creation, have been exhibited at various locations throughout the county.
