Assisted Dying Protest – Meet at George V Statue
On 22 October, for the first time in years, the UK Parliament will debate legislation to legalise assisted dying for the terminally ill. Humanists UK, which campaigns for a right to die for those with terminal or incurable illnesses, fully supports the Assisted Dying Bill as a landmark step towards much-needed reform. It will be taking part in a rally outside Parliament happening that morning.
Outside the UK Parliament, demonstrators, including Humanists UK’s members and supporters, will gather to call for assisted dying reform as peers debate the proposed legislation. The demonstration will start from 9:00 at the George V Statue in Old Palace Yard. Protesters will hear from a range of high-profile speakers across the morning calling for much-needed assisted dying reform.
