Humanist Climate Action is a volunteer-led network committed to protecting the welfare of our fellow human beings and the natural world.
We believe that this is the one life we have and we have a moral duty to use it to protect the one we world we have – for the sake of current and future generations. Our goal is to redefine human lifestyles to be ethical and sustainable and to campaign for policies that tackle the global climate crisis. We use the humanist principles of science and reason to engage in dialogue and debate in pursuit of our aims.
What we do
Humanist Climate Action was formed in 2021. It grew out of the Humanists for a Better World network, which was originally created in 2011. We aim to:
- Promote environmentally friendly policies
- Challenge beliefs that are not evidence-based and disinformation about environmental issues, particularly climate change
- Encourage humanists to adopt greener lifestyles, following the best available scientific evidence
- Ensure that the humanist voice is heard in religious or belief-led initiatives on environmental issues
- Endorse and support the actions of other environmental campaigning groups that share our objectives
