Biologist

Norman MacLean is Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences, Southampton University. His research interests and writings span genetics, genomics, fish, conservation of wildlife and molecular biology. His books on these subjects include: Silent Summer: the state of the wildlife in Britain and Ireland (edited 2010); Animals with novel genes (edited 1994, reprinted 2009); Commitment and differentiation (with Hall, B.K., 1987, reprinted 2009).
