‘I'm very proud indeed to be a patron of Humanists UK, who are a huge force for good in this country and around the world. Their tireless campaigns on issues such as assisted dying and reproductive rights are particularly close to my heart, and I look forward to being able to be more closely involved.’

Adam Kay is an award-winning writer, comedian and former doctor. (NB the awards were for writing and comedy rather than medicine). His debut book, This is Going to Hurt, was a literary sensation: a Sunday Times number one bestseller for over a year, translated into 37 languages and turned into a hit TV show for BBC/AMC starring Ben Whishaw. He continues to write books, perform live and advocate for doctors. He lives in Oxfordshire with his dog and husband. (Two separate individuals).
