Watch party for the Blackham Lecture 2024 | York Humanists
Join us for a sociable watch party for the Blackham Lecture 2024 - 'The Evolution of Childhood' with Brenna Hassett - followed by friendly discussion.
You can gather with other local humanists for this free online screening, and explore the fascinating subject in more detail.
Humanist UK’s Blackham Lecture explores an aspect of education, childhood, or lifelong development, either philosophical, practical, or social, that relates to humanism. Brenna Hassett is a biological anthropologist whose career has taken her around the globe, researching the past using the clues left behind in human remains. She specialises in using clues from the human skeleton to understand how people lived and died in the past. You can find out more about the Blackham Lecture and this year’s speaker here.
You’re very welcome to attend for free. However, we would greatly appreciate any small voluntary donations to help cover costs and continue to put on events for our local humanist community.
