Creator of the Solar System | York Humanists
This talk will outline the history of the Solar System Greenway, which runs between Bishopthorpe to Ricall along a section of the East Coast Mainline from London to Edinburgh that was closed due to the sinking of the Selby Coalfield. You will also hear about the genesis of the Solar System model, its design and construction 'over somewhat more than seven days.'

Peter Huxford is Chair of York Greenways, a volunteer group caring for traffic free routes in and
around York.
Peter Thompson is Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of York with a special interest in the perception of motion. With colleagues Dave Coulthard and Willi Hoedman he designed and built the 10 kilometre scale model of the Solar System.
