Humanists in Government network to launch in Westminster

26 March, 2019

Humanists UK’s newest network, Humanists in Government, is launching next week, to bring together like-minded civil service personnel and other professionals working across UK and devolved governments.

The network will organise regular events and facilitate links between people working at the heart of policy-making and delivering bodies.

The Humanists in Government network will launch on Wednesday 3 April at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Humanists UK’s Vice President, physicist, author, and broadcaster Professor Jim Al-Khalili will give a short talk, followed by time for networking between humanists at every stage of their career and across departments.

If you’re a civil servant currently working in the UK or a devolved government or the London Assembly, or a political advisor or parliamentary staffer, please register to attend without delay as spaces are limited and are filling up fast.

If you’re a humanist in government who can’t attend the launch event, you can sign up to be part of the network to receive regular updates and news.

Welcoming the network Humanists UK’s Chief Executive Andrew Copson said:

‘We are delighted to launch Humanists in Government, our newest network to bring together like-minded individuals in different sectors of work. The network will help non-religious people share experiences, exchange ideas, and coordinate activity related to humanism between government departments.’
