Join us for a talk to mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). Hear LGBT perspectives on phobia in the media, past and present, exploring this year's theme of 'No One Left Behind'.

IDAHOBIT was created in 2004 to raise awareness of the violence and discrimination faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, including all people who have diverse gender identities or gender expressions. Part of the 45th Anniversary of LGBT Humanists, this event is inspired by its former chair Derek Lennard (1952-2023) who led the campaign that established IDAHOBIT in the UK.

LGBT people across the world continue to face hate, discrimination and violence. Join us as we explore LGBT media activism from the years past, and discuss what we can all do to keep making progress in the future.

This event is organised as part of the LGBT strand of the National Lottery Heritage Fund-supported project ‘Humanist Heritage: Doers, Dreamers, Place Makers’, coordinated by Humanists UK in partnership with Conway Hall.
