October social: exploring local nuclear plans | Swansea Bay Humanists

Join us for our monthly social gathering for general discussions on life, the universe and everything through a humanist perspective.
Join us for topics that embrace the values of humanism: kindness, compassion, equality & rational thought, while we take a look at how we can support and create a world in which we can all flourish.
This month we are joined by Brian Jones (Greenpeace and Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament Cymru), who will outline the proposal to develop a nuclear site near Maesteg at the site of the former Llynfi coal-fired power station. He will detail the ongoing regulatory assessment process, including public consultations and key concerns raised by among others, Greenpeace, CND, Plaid Cymru and Friends of the Earth Cymru.
Meet at 18:30 if you would like to purchase a meal beforehand, or join us for the discussion from 19:30. Pre-ordering food via the Pontardawe Inn website is recommended. Alternatively, phone 01792 447562, and say that you are attending the Swansea Bay Humanists monthly meeting.
This event is free to attend, but we welcome any donations, which help with our running costs.
