First meeting | Nottingham Humanists Book Club
Our first meeting is a chance to get to know each other, discuss what humanism means for us, and look forward to our readings in the new year.
We may use some passages from "the little book of humanism" by Alice Roberts and Andrew Copson as starting talking points. You don't need to have read the book to come to the meeting, you just need to have an interest in humanist values.
So far, we've selected two books for 2025:
- Humankind by Rutget Bregman
- Humanly Possible by Sarah Bakewell
But we want to hear your ideas. What books best convey the humanist experience, offer a unique humanist perspective, or provoke a strong humanist reaction? This initial relaxed meeting wil be the perfect place to share your ideas.
