Let humanists speak on BBC Thought for the Day

Why is the BBC excluding non-religious voices from Thought for the Day (Radio 4) and Pause for Thought (Radio 2)?

These programmes claim to offer ‘reflections for everyone,’ yet humanist and other non-religious speakers are banned.

The BBC had a legal requirement to represent everyone equally – not just religious people.

Humanists have moral and philosophical insights to share, just as religious people do. The UK is a majority non-religious country, yet the BBC refuses to give non-religious perspectives a platform.

This is blatant discrimination. The BBC is funded by all licence fee payers – not just the religious ones.

We are a community standing up for fairness, inclusion, and equal representation. Together, we’re calling for the BBC to allow humanist speakers on these programmes.
