General Election coming up…

5 April, 2015

In case you’ve managed to avoid it so far, here’s a reminder that there’s a General Election coming up – and so far H4BW concerns such as global justice, fair trade, peace, climate change and the environment don’t seem to have featured much in party campaigns. Do go along to local hustings if you can, and ask your candidates questions about these issues, as well as other humanist concerns such as the divisiveness of faith schools.

And after the Election…
On Wednesday 17th June, in the streets outside Westminster Palace, The Climate Coalition will be part of the biggest climate lobby in history. The day will be filled with live music, speakers on soap boxes, ecumenical and interfaith acts of worship and a large rally in the afternoon, as well as workshops, film screenings and more. There’s a sign up form for the June 17th lobby on the For The Love Of… website, and a Key Messaging doc  to get you started (with some useful messages for candidates even before the General Election).

There will also be opportunities to lobby your MPs in their constituencies if you can’t make it to Westminster – watch this space for more guidance from TCC.
