Time to Act climate march, London, 7 March

17 February, 2015

banner2011Join other humanists or a bloc of your choice on this march, starting in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, setting off at 1.00pm on Saturday 7th March. Blocs, including energy, divestment,  peace, wildlife, global justice, transition towns, climate jobs and flooding…  will reflect the causes and impacts of climate change and allow important campaigns to be highlighted, coming together in Parliament Square with one coherent call for climate action. Speakers will be followed by a mass action – set off your alarm clocks for a wake-up call! It’s Time to Act on Climate Change – see http://www.timetoact2015.org/.for more info.

There will be some humanists in or alongside the Transition Town bloc, probably with the H4BW banner, and Global Justice Now is leading the Energy justice/ No TTIP bloc. If you’d like to walk with GJN register on our Facebook event and the Time to Act Facebook event. And there will be plenty of other blocs (including faith groups).

Background: in Paris this December, governments will work on an agreement aimed at reducing carbon emissions. The chances for a decent deal look bleak. That means we risk disastrous four degree global warming.  Global Justice Now say: “We can only change this by challenging the power which big business has over our governments and over our energy resources.”
