Climate Change – four things you can do in the run-up to the Durban talks

21 November, 2011

Key international climate change talks start in South Africa next week – the future of our planet could depend on how they go. Don’t let this government go on thinking that no one cares about climate change. Four things you could do:

Action 1, soon, sign the 38 Degrees team petition:
Climate minister Chris Huhne is deciding what to do. He could help the fight against climate change by promising the UK will stick to international carbon rules. Or he could rip up the rulebook by saying the UK won’t cooperate. Send Chris Huhne an email, telling him to do the right thing and back a proper climate deal at https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/email-chris-huhne

Action 2, December 1st, Stop Climate Chaos coalition Online Debate with Climate minister Chris Huhne – 1st December, 7-8pm, just before he heads out to Durban to represent us. Watch the debate live on the African Climate Connection website, and submit questions to Chris Huhne from today via twitter or the-african-connection.org website, as well as during the debate itself.

Action 3, December 3rd, Campaign Against Climate Change “Stand Up for Climate Justice”: join H4BW on the CACC March and Rally in London, meeting on Saturday 3rd December from 12 noon, to set off for Westminster at 1.00pm, at assembly point in the St Pauls/ Millenium Bridge area (precise location soon – more information on the CACC website). We will be there – will you?

Action 4, over the next few weeks, African Climate Connection events: join in one of many events being up and down the country, anything from photo exhibitions with African snacks to outside gatherings with African dancers and drummers – list of events at http://www.stopclimatechaos.org/acc-events.
