Amidst so many global warming concerns, perhaps we could promote a focus on the only swift respite possible – reducing solar heating by reflection. Current albedo loss due to shrinking ice adds to feedback woes.
The ‘reflective ocean clouds’ proposal is eminently worth trial as easy and cheap. Marine surface reflectors (added energy or habitat functions?) could be practicable. Even implausible dust in space (beyond L1 by electric gun?) bears a rough calculation. Faced with inevitable losses, it is surely time to try something (safe because gradual, measurable, reversible). Perhaps initial money has to come from public subscription lead by humanists?
