The British Humanist Association (BHA) today welcomed X-Factor star Chico to its offices in central London.

Chico, most famous for his number one hit ‘It’s Chico Time’, is taking time out to pursue a different passion of his – he is making a documentary about the diversity of beliefs about god in the UK. Chico contacted the BHA after seeing the atheist bus adverts, which said, ‘There’s probably no god. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life’, and was keen to involve the national charity representing and supporting non-religious people in his project.

Hanne Stinson, BHA Chief Executive, said, ‘We were surprised to receive a telephone call from someone one would not normally associate with a project exploring people’s personal beliefs. However, after being impressed about the scope and aims of the project, which has already filmed a range of people with religious and atheistic beliefs, we were very happy to contribute and welcomed Chico and his team to film us at work.’

The documentary will be finished later this year.
