A report published today by the think tank Policy Exchange states that 60% of Muslims would prefer their children attended a mixed school. This finding supports the British Humanist Association’s (BHA) position that the majority of people, whatever their background, prefer mixed state schools over faith schools.
The research explored attitudes of Muslims in Britain and found that, while the majority of Muslims would prefer not to send their children to an Islamic school, 37% of the younger generation would prefer to send their children to an Islamic school compared to 25% of 45-54 year olds and just 19% of those over 55.
