I am a humanist naming ceremony, wedding and funeral celebrant, based in Bristol. As a naming celebrant, I create joyful, meaningful and personal ceremonies to celebrate a baby or a child, a new blended family, or the affirmation of a new identity.
I adore getting to be part of your family's naming ceremonies - they are such special opportunities to celebrate love, belonging and family. I treasure getting to learn all about you, find beautifully crafted words to tell your story and symbolic acts to mark this moment of transition, and hold your ceremony for you.
What is it you are looking to celebrate with a naming ceremony? I can’t wait to hear all about it and to create something special together.
Naming ceremonies for babies, children and blended families
Every child - and their family - is unique. I work with families to celebrate all sorts of rites of passage - naming babies, celebrating older children, honouring the transition into parenthood, bringing together two families into one, marking name changes, appointing guideparents (or fairy godparents, or even odd-parents!). The possibilities are endless!
Whether your journey to where you are today has been simple and joyful, or the road has had more twists and turns - bringing your community together to celebrate your children and your family can be the most meaningful and precious thing. Your story deserves to be told, and shared by the people you love.
Marking new identities and big changes
My naming ceremonies are not just for little ones, and they don’t always have to be about a naming, either. Think of them as celebrations of new beginnings and forms of belonging - for anyone.
As adults, we all experience big changes. We make brave decisions, craft new identities, let go of things that don’t serve us, and forge new pathways. And all of these moments deserve to be given meaning and significance.
Whether you are stepping into a new name, identity, stage of life or adventure, I want to work with you to create the perfect ceremony to celebrate what needs to be celebrated, and let go of what needs to be released. Whether it’s just a few of your closest people on a hillside, or a big party with your whole community - you deserve to be witnessed and held, joyfully and wholeheartedly.
Whatever you want your ceremony to say, and however you want to say it – I will help you find beautiful words and meaningful symbolic acts to do so in a way that perfectly reflects who you are.
