Weddings are enormous fun and an incredibly important punctuation point in the lives of the couple, their family and friendship group. With me as your celebrant you would find that there there is a great balance between the seriousness of the occasion as well as humour and celebration.
For some it is a formal white wedding in a tremendous venue like Hever Castle which looks and feels like a ‘destination’ wedding. For others it will be the garden in the couple’s family home with a land rover serving as an ‘altar’. The wonderful thing about a humanist ceremony is that you get to have a wedding ceremony exactly how you want it. (You can see pictures of me in both examples on my website!)
My personal favourites are informal weddings inside or outside where the couple want to celebrate their marriage (with a big party) but also understand how important it is to have a moving, thoughtful ceremony as part of their day.
I will be happy in any venue – however far it is off the beaten track.
In my first meeting with you I’ll get to know your personal preferences and your story as a couple.
You may have a clear idea of what you want or you may want some inspiration. Either way I will create a script for your ceremony that you will be proud to call your own. We can share ideas in the months before your big day and finalise the ceremony well in advance so you can worry about other things. Then we can have a rehearsal the day before and I will be your celebrant for the day itself. Afterwards you will have a smart copy of the ceremony to help you remember your day in the years to come.
