Hi, I'm Stephanie

Your words, your way: a personal farewell

A funeral should tell the truth about a life. Not a template, not a script written for anyone, but a ceremony that sounds like the person who died.

I'm Stephanie, a celebrant based in South West London. I work with families to build a real picture of the person who died, through their stories, their photos, and the details that made them themselves. From that, I write a ceremony that the people there will recognise as a true reflection of the person we are remembering.

You might have been directed to my page by a funeral director, or have found me directly. Either way, the process is the same: careful listening, a draft written for your approval, and a ceremony on the day that you can trust me to lead. I cover funerals, memorials, and celebrations of life across London.

I became a celebrant because I wanted to create ceremonies that are genuinely personal, true to the people involved, and free from a script. Years of theatre, and a career in communications, have taught me how to hold a room, read the mood, and find the right words for difficult moments.

Other languages

I offer bilingual French-English ceremonies and am happy to conduct ceremonies fully in French, in a mix of both languages, or with key moments in French for guests who need it. If another language matters to you or the person who died, I've incorporated languages including Hungarian, Bulgarian, and Hebrew into ceremonies before, and I'd welcome the chance to do the same for you.

"Stephanie had a fantastic presence – we felt we were in safe hands."

"The ceremony was lovely and Stephanie was calm and engaging"

HUMANIST CEREMONIES™ is the network of more than 550 celebrants, trained by national charity Humanists UK to a gold standard to provide memorable and meaningful humanist ceremonies to non-religious people. Operating throughout England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, we deliver authentic, tailor-made and heartfelt ceremonies for life’s key moments. They are always inclusive and welcoming, regardless of the beliefs of those attending.

You can trust Humanist Ceremonies celebrants: We are DBS-checked, fully insured, and regularly peer reviewed for quality assurance. We are committed to a code of conduct, and have a transparent and robust complaints process in the rare case of a problem. We all pay a monthly fee to Humanists UK to further support the work of the charity, and are part of a regional network for like-minded celebrants for support and learning.

Humanist funerals

Humanist funerals, memorials and ash ceremonies are a fitting way to honour a unique life with warmth, sensitivity and meaning, but without reference to religion or an afterlife. They put the story of the person who has died at the heart of the ceremony, paying tribute to them and the legacy they leave, and provide an opportunity to bring people together, not just to share sadness but to celebrate a life lived.
