Humanist Ceremonies can be conducted almost anywhere. I am very happy to conduct your ceremony is a garden, or at a favourite outdoor site. Equally ceremonies can be devised to work in more conventional settings.
The range of options open to those planning a funeral is much wider than ever before. Natural and woodland burial grounds are becoming more common as are outdoor ceremonies. You can hold a funeral in your own garden if you would like to do so.
The choice of what material: music, poetry, readings, philosophy, performance is as wide as your imagination. Participation by family and friends helps make ceremonies personal and meaningful for some, for others a single voice expressing the emotions of many can be more profound.
I am very happy to make suggestions about what you might find appropriate and equally pleased to weave your ideas and favourite pieces into a ceremony that meets your needs.
Humanism is non-religious rather than anti-religious. If you would like to incorporate material with religious connotations into the ceremony I will be glad to help.
As a family barrister I spent years translating raw and often painful emotion into powerful spoken words. As a Humanist Funeral Celebrant I use those skills to ensure that every voice is allowed true expression.
I work in North London. If you would like to discuss an imminent funeral please give me a call.
I am also happy to work with people who would like to create their own funeral now, in order to ensure they get the send off that they would wish. Please call to talk about the form and structure of your future funeral. You might find that it can be surprisingly good fun.
