Hi, I'm Rosie

Hello! I’m a naming celebrant trained and accredited by Humanists UK. I have created and delivered many wonderful, joyful naming ceremonies during the last 8 years, including ceremonies for three of my granddaughters.

I’ve worked with a variety of families to celebrate the arrival and young lives of IVF and donor babies, adopted babies, twins, and sibling groups. Although most naming ceremonies are for babies or young children there is no reason not to celebrate the life of a child or young person at any age. One of my most memorable ceremonies was for a lovely 14 year old girl as she moved from childhood to young adulthood. Baby ceremonies are always fun, often noisy, and sometimes sticky! The one thing that is certain is that the unexpected will happen - but it all adds to the fun!

What I offer

I will work closely with you to create a unique ceremony that reflects the personality of your child, and the interests and values of you and your family, and I will deliver it in a friendly and professional style.

Contact me

It’s important to choose the right celebrant for you. So to find out more about me as a person, my approach to ceremonies, and to read what some of my families have said, check out my website.

If you like what you see I would love to hear from you. I’m happy to have an initial conversation for me to explain more about what I do and how I work, and our first meeting will be without obligation.

HUMANIST CEREMONIES™ is the network of more than 550 celebrants, trained by national charity Humanists UK to a gold standard to provide memorable and meaningful humanist ceremonies to non-religious people. Operating throughout England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, we deliver authentic, tailor-made and heartfelt ceremonies for life’s key moments. They are always inclusive and welcoming, regardless of the beliefs of those attending.

You can trust Humanist Ceremonies celebrants: We are DBS-checked, fully insured, and regularly peer reviewed for quality assurance. We are committed to a code of conduct, and have a transparent and robust complaints process in the rare case of a problem. We all pay a monthly fee to Humanists UK to further support the work of the charity, and are part of a regional network for like-minded celebrants for support and learning.

Humanist naming ceremonies

A humanist naming ceremony is a joyous event, and the perfect opportunity to gather friends and family to welcome your child into the world, with no reference to religion. It focuses on the child, their future and the circle of love and support around them, offering a sincere and personal alternative to a christening or other religious ceremony.
