Richard has been an accredited humanist wedding celebrant for 5 years, during which he's conducted weddings and vow renewals predominantly in the North West but also further afield into Yorkshire, Derbyshire, and Wales.
His experience spans from grand and high-profile venues to marquees in gardens and fields, sports clubs and hotels, private houses, and a number on the beach and other public places.
Once the ceremony has finished, many guests tell Richard that they've never been to a ceremony like it (in a positive way) as it was so personal to the couple telling their 'love journey'.
His weddings contain a lot of humour if the couple request it, along with a serious tone during the essential parts.
A lot of work goes into the ceremony with the structure decided when Richard meets the couple. This includes all aspects of the ceremony that you'd recognize as being traditional, for example, vows and ring exchange, along with any symbolic actions that include all the guests, such as handfasting and warming of the rings.
In other words, Richard doesn't like his guests sitting there looking at their watches wondering when they're going to get a free vol-au-vent and a glass of prosecco!!
Richard is proud to operate in the recognised centre of the LGBTQ+ area of the North West and has conducted many ceremonies for different diverse communities.
Weddings don't need to cost you 'an arm and a leg' and Richard can offer valuable advice, partly due to his Yorkshire upbringing, as to how you can save the £'s whilst keeping the ceremony focused on what it is supposed to achieve.
He has conducted numerous vow-renewal ceremonies for a variety of reasons, along with 'second location' weddings where the couple were lucky enough to get married at some exotic location.
In fact, a couple of these vow-renewal ceremonies were a complete surprise to guests as they thought they were there for another reason!
