I'm a funeral celebrant helping families across the North East and Northumberland with crematorium funerals and celebrations of life that beautifully reflect the life well lived of the person we're saying one last farewell to, done with care, warmth and dignity.
If you've lost someone, you're in the right place
If you're reading this because someone you love has died, I'm so sorry. You don't need to have the right words, or know exactly what you want, and you certainly don't need to have it all worked out before we speak. Most families don't. That's what I'm here for.
Whatever the send off, the aim stays the same
Whether it's a traditional send off at the crematorium, or a celebration that's more "raise a glass" than "bow your head", the aim is the same: to send off the person who's gone in style, and to also properly mark the moment for everyone present.
Some families want quiet dignity. Some want laughter alongside the tears. Most want both, in the right measure, at the right moments. It's your ceremony, and I'll help you shape it around what fits.
How we'll work together
We'll start with a conversation, and there's no pressure in it. Often that's over a cup of tea, at your home or wherever you feel most comfortable, and I'll simply ask you to tell me about them. I'll listen for the stories, the small details, the things that made them laugh, and the little quirks everyone who knew them will recognise instantly. Those are the things that make a tribute feel like a person rather than a list of dates, places and achievements.
From there I'll write the ceremony, drawing on your memories and, if you'd like, the memories of other family and friends, so that what's said on the day sounds like them, not like a template.
Whenever you feel ready
If you'd like to talk, there's no obligation and no pressure. Tell me a little about the person you're remembering, and we'll take it from there, together. We can start with a cup of tea.
With care,
Paul
