Hi, I'm Mair

Hello there,

I'm Mair, an accredited humanist funerals celebrant originally from south Wales and now based in south-east London.

Holding a humanist funeral, memorial ceremony or celebration of life is a meaningful way to celebrate the life and legacy of your loved one.

I take great pride in creating bespoke non-religious ceremonies that truly do justice to your loved one's memory, with a warm and authentic tone of voice.

I also offer shorter ash interment and ash scattering ceremonies.

I specialise in bilingual ceremonies in French and Welsh, and I'd be more than happy to discuss the practicalities of organising a bilingual ceremony with you.

While humanist funerals are non-religious ceremonies, I'll work closely with you to make sure your loved one's ceremony is inclusive to all your guests - including those with a religious faith.

My nearest crematoria and burial grounds include: Beckenham, Honor Oak, West Norwood, Croydon, Hither Green, Lambeth, Eltham, South London, Bluebell (Sevenoaks) and Kemnal Park (Sidcup).

For more information, please visit my website.

Mair led a memorial service for my partner. Mair's kindness, empathy and patience helped me to make difficult decisions and put together a fitting tribute and ceremony. Mair's attention to detail, gentle suggestions and preparedness ensured that the ceremony was performed as planned and was a great comfort for me on the day. I really appreciated it.

HUMANIST CEREMONIES™ is the network of more than 550 celebrants, trained by national charity Humanists UK to a gold standard to provide memorable and meaningful humanist ceremonies to non-religious people. Operating throughout England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, we deliver authentic, tailor-made and heartfelt ceremonies for life’s key moments. They are always inclusive and welcoming, regardless of the beliefs of those attending.

You can trust Humanist Ceremonies celebrants: We are DBS-checked, fully insured, and regularly peer reviewed for quality assurance. We are committed to a code of conduct, and have a transparent and robust complaints process in the rare case of a problem. We all pay a monthly fee to Humanists UK to further support the work of the charity, and are part of a regional network for like-minded celebrants for support and learning.

Humanist funerals

Humanist funerals, memorials and ash ceremonies are a fitting way to honour a unique life with warmth, sensitivity and meaning, but without reference to religion or an afterlife. They put the story of the person who has died at the heart of the ceremony, paying tribute to them and the legacy they leave, and provide an opportunity to bring people together, not just to share sadness but to celebrate a life lived.
