Hi, I'm Louise

One of life’s most challenging and emotional experiences is saying goodbye to a loved one. As a professional funeral celebrant, I understand how important it is to honour the lives of those who’ve died respectfully and personally while still being a time to celebrate their life and remember the joy and happiness they brought to those who knew them.

Throughout my years, I’ve come to appreciate that every life is unique, just as every farewell should be. Be it a Celebration of Life at a Crematorium, a cemetery, a venue of your choice for a memorial ceremony, or even helping people to plan their ceremony to minimise the stress on their loved ones, I work closely with families, getting to know their stories, traditions, and desires to craft a celebration that truly reflects the life and spirit of their loved one. I also work closely with your funeral director to ensure everything runs smoothly, allowing you to focus on what matters most.

"Louise was the celebrant at my husband's funeral, and she was everything we hoped she would be. She spent a great deal of time getting to know our story, her communication was spot on, her delivery on the day was just right, and she led us through the whole process in an empathetic and supportive manner. I would happily recommend Louise's services for any ceremony."

"Louise delivered the perfect ceremony, she made everyone cry & laugh in equal measure. Keeping the service a celebration of life and making an emotional occasion a little bit easier for myself, friends and family."

"After attending a very good friend's mother's funeral, I was impressed with Louise Williams, the Celebrant. Sadly, my mother-in-law died soon after, so I immediately contacted Louise to organise her funeral, too. I can't give Louise enough praise. She is extremely professional, very compassionate, and caring. Everyone at the funeral was so impressed with her and her heartfelt eulogy, and some people actually thought she was a family friend!!

My mother-in-law would be very happy with her Celebration of Life send-off. Thank you so much, Louise."

HUMANIST CEREMONIES™ is the network of more than 550 celebrants, trained by national charity Humanists UK to a gold standard to provide memorable and meaningful humanist ceremonies to non-religious people. Operating throughout England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, we deliver authentic, tailor-made and heartfelt ceremonies for life’s key moments. They are always inclusive and welcoming, regardless of the beliefs of those attending.

You can trust Humanist Ceremonies celebrants: We are DBS-checked, fully insured, and regularly peer reviewed for quality assurance. We are committed to a code of conduct, and have a transparent and robust complaints process in the rare case of a problem. We all pay a monthly fee to Humanists UK to further support the work of the charity, and are part of a regional network for like-minded celebrants for support and learning.

Humanist funerals

Humanist funerals, memorials and ash ceremonies are a fitting way to honour a unique life with warmth, sensitivity and meaning, but without reference to religion or an afterlife. They put the story of the person who has died at the heart of the ceremony, paying tribute to them and the legacy they leave, and provide an opportunity to bring people together, not just to share sadness but to celebrate a life lived.
