My name is Louise Rooney, I write and conduct personal and heartfelt ceremonies for funerals and memorials.
I work on Anglesey and all along the North Wales coast towards and including the North West of England. I can travel further afield on request.
Many people ask me how I became a celebrant, I have held down many jobs in my life so far, from working at Greater Manchester and North Wales Police to being a window cleaner in my husband’s business.
So, how did I get into celebrancy?
It started when my Mum and Dad passed away close together, we held a joint funeral service for them, neither were religious, so a celebrant led celebration of life felt perfect for them.
I remember writing some words for our celebrant and watching him at work on the day and I thought ‘I’d love to do that.’
I had the opportunity to re-train and so it began! This was in 2023, and I’ve not looked back since.
I trained to conduct funerals firstly, then after a short while, added weddings to the ceremonies I conduct.
I love my ‘job’ – which isn’t work at all! It is an honour to be with people helping them at very important of their lives.
I encourage you to use your imagination – anything is possible in the services I write and conduct.
Every ceremony is written with care, warmth and great attention to detail – it is personal to you and will feel true to the people at the centre of it.
I offer calm guidance and beautifully written words for your occasion.
It is a common myth that you rely upon your funeral director to choose your celebrant.
Although the majority of my work does come from my fellow professionals; I am noticing more and more that families like to do their own research and choose their own celebrant.
So, whether you were planning a joyful wedding, a relaxed celebration of love or a thoughtful funeral service to honour someone’s life, you are in the right place.
I'd love to meet you and help you through this difficult time, most people only organise a handful of funerals in their lifetime - so I am here to support and guide you.
