Hi, I'm Liz

I am also an accredited Naming celebrant by Humanist UK . Personally I love naming ceremonies, they are so wholesome, a lovely reason to gather the family around and celebrate all that is good in life. I can create and lead bespoke ceremonies for newborn babies, toddlers, and older children – for one child or two or more siblings, or related children (or friends). I conduct naming ceremonies for families, including brothers and sisters, and also cousins. I'm flexible and can accommodate your wishes.

Where can you hold a naming ceremony?

A humanist naming ceremony can take place anywhere – the family home or garden, community centre, village hall, a hotel, or café. The possibilities are endless!

I love love namimg ceremonies and would love to chat to you about them!

My family are truly grateful to the wonderful Liz Peel for everything she did helping us to celebrate our beautiful baby boy during his Naming ceremony. Liz was the perfect blend of consummate professionalism and brilliant craic! She took the incessant rain and wide range of ceremony participants - from 5 month old baby to 87 year old great Granda - in her stride, making everyone feel included, welcomed and valued. She is just amazing. Thank you Liz for everything you did and I hope many more babies have the privilege of being welcomed to the world by wonderful you!

HUMANIST CEREMONIES™ is the network of more than 550 celebrants, trained by national charity Humanists UK to a gold standard to provide memorable and meaningful humanist ceremonies to non-religious people. Operating throughout England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, we deliver authentic, tailor-made and heartfelt ceremonies for life’s key moments. They are always inclusive and welcoming, regardless of the beliefs of those attending.

You can trust Humanist Ceremonies celebrants: We are DBS-checked, fully insured, and regularly peer reviewed for quality assurance. We are committed to a code of conduct, and have a transparent and robust complaints process in the rare case of a problem. We all pay a monthly fee to Humanists UK to further support the work of the charity, and are part of a regional network for like-minded celebrants for support and learning.

Humanist naming ceremonies

A humanist naming ceremony is a joyous event, and the perfect opportunity to gather friends and family to welcome your child into the world, with no reference to religion. It focuses on the child, their future and the circle of love and support around them, offering a sincere and personal alternative to a christening or other religious ceremony.
