Hi, I'm Janni

If you’re looking for a unique, personal and inclusive non-religious celebration of life, for your special person I'd be honoured to be your celebrant.

Based in Belfast I travel extensively throughout Northern Ireland to provide beautifully crafted funeral, memorial and celebration of life ceremonies.

I provide fresh, modern and personal approach to creating the perfect authentic non-religious ceremony.

There really are no limits to when and how you say goodbye…You can choose to have your uplifting funeral and memorial ceremony at any location, with whatever special touches you may wish to add in. I can help you to plan the perfect ceremony that is authentic, and memorable.

People find that my warm and gentle nature, combined with my calm and confident approach to public speaking, along with my understanding of grief and my compassionate heart makes me a perfect choice for conducting funerals. I consider it an honour and privilege to sit with others through their individual experience.

Together we’ll work out the most fitting way to say goodbye as I guide you through the process. I'll create a ceremony by developing a rapport between family members and friends and myself, and then sharing your person's story in a ceremony that is deeply personal, compassionate, entertaining and unforgettable.

You can be sure that a humanist funeral conducted by me will be inclusive, warm, welcoming, sensitive and authentic. It's a very special way to remember and say goodbye to your special person.

Do you want to take away the stress from your family members and close friends and organise your own send off?

I can help you do that too. Together we can plan and arrange the send off you want.

Get in touch, let’s have a chat about your vision for your one of a kind memorial ceremony.

While there are so many decisions at what can be one of the most difficult times, I am here to make things a bit easier. Let me guide you through the creation of an ideal ceremony that is incredibly meaningful and significant.

A Little About Me -

My three main loves: great food, great conversation and nature

Key personality traits: calm, understanding and naturally warm

Can't go a day without: reading some fiction, cuddling my dogs, lying on the sofa eating chocolate

How to pronounce my name: Jan-eee

"We can't thank Janni enough for her input. It was just a lovely day which we found uplifting and joyful. Janni set the tone perfectly. She has found her vocation"

— Claire

"We were spellbound by the 35 minute tribute by Janni and of course the contributions from family and friends. I thought I knew Martin well and really appreciated a lot of the oration about the early years ---- I only got to know Martin in later years but Janni brought back many happy memories"

— Richard

HUMANIST CEREMONIES™ is the network of more than 550 celebrants, trained by national charity Humanists UK to a gold standard to provide memorable and meaningful humanist ceremonies to non-religious people. Operating throughout England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, we deliver authentic, tailor-made and heartfelt ceremonies for life’s key moments. They are always inclusive and welcoming, regardless of the beliefs of those attending.

You can trust Humanist Ceremonies celebrants: We are DBS-checked, fully insured, and regularly peer reviewed for quality assurance. We are committed to a code of conduct, and have a transparent and robust complaints process in the rare case of a problem. We all pay a monthly fee to Humanists UK to further support the work of the charity, and are part of a regional network for like-minded celebrants for support and learning.

Humanist funerals

Humanist funerals, memorials and ash ceremonies are a fitting way to honour a unique life with warmth, sensitivity and meaning, but without reference to religion or an afterlife. They put the story of the person who has died at the heart of the ceremony, paying tribute to them and the legacy they leave, and provide an opportunity to bring people together, not just to share sadness but to celebrate a life lived.
