YOUR WEDDING JOURNEY

Planning a wedding is such an exciting time in your lives, but it can also be a little daunting. The ceremony choices can feel a little overwhelming, but it really doesn't need to be that way, especially when you book a celebrant! I’m always pleased to support and advise, as much or as little as you need, and to answer your questions along the way. From that initial email, to the moment you walk down the aisle - I'll be there with you, every step!

Here at Jane Blackman Weddings, my work is focused on celebrating your individuality, your personalities, your story and milestones; championing inclusivity and embracing diversity. Every couple deserves a tailor-made ceremony, reflecting their distinct relationship. Shaping ceremonies to fit the people they are crafted for, is part of the great pleasure of writing and conducting a wedding celebration.

WHAT I DO . . .

No two wedding ceremonies should ever be the same (in my opinion!) - as no relationship can be the same as another. Working closely with you, meeting up in person, I'll get to know your characters and your story. I'll find the best way to get your wedding day revels started in style; choosing words and content that resonates with you both - so that your ceremony will be just that - YOURS and no one else’s.

The emphasis is always on YOU TWO - reflecting, through words, music, singing, poetry, readings and/or perhaps symbolic actions (if you want any of that - and fine if you don't!) your wishes and values in an engaging and creative way. Your ceremony can be full of energy, with fun and smiles or a moment of calm and grace - or a mixture of all of that! And if

Jane is just a wonderful, joyful human, and her enthusiasm for life (and weddings!) is contagious. After initially speaking to Jane on the phone we knew she was the right celebrant for us. We had a lovely two hour coffee meeting, when she captured our journey as a couple and a family perfectly.On the day, Jane filled us with confidence about the ceremony and we were so excited. We had a relaxed rehearsal when we went through the handfasting and the ring exchange. Before the actual ceremony, she riled the crowd up so that the whole ceremony was active and fun and just joyful! All of the guests commented on what a lovely ceremony it was. Everyone was so relaxed for the whole 45 minutes, people were clapping and cheering, and it was just more fabulous than we ever imagined. Thank you so much Jane, you are just wonderful!

Where I work

I live by the sea, in beautiful West Sussex (between Brighton and Chichester) - I conduct ceremonies across the whole of the South East of England. This includes Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey and Kent. Always happy to discuss travelling further afield, including destination weddings.

£850 for local weddings (within 25 miles of home) £650 for vow renewals (my weekday, daytime fees are a little less than weekends and evenings)

They are always inclusive and welcoming, regardless of the beliefs of those attending.

You can trust Humanist Ceremonies celebrants: We are DBS-checked, fully insured, and regularly peer reviewed for quality assurance. We are committed to a code of conduct, and have a transparent and robust complaints process in the rare case of a problem. We all pay a monthly fee to Humanists UK to further support the work of the charity, and are part of a regional network for like-minded celebrants for support and learning.
