I became a Humanist Naming Celebrant, after becoming a Grandma!
I am a Humanist Wedding Celebrant and a few years ago my daughter asked me to name her two gorgeous little boys in a ceremony on a beach. So I decided to train to become a Naming Celebrant too, which I love.
Naming Ceremonies are becoming more and more popular, as parents wish to formally welcome and name their children, in a non-religious ceremony. Each ceremony is individually designed for the family and may include such things as tree planting, candle lighting, sand blending, poems, “double bubbles” and signing a Naming Certificate.
Naming Ceremonies can be held anywhere including gardens, hotels, village halls, homes, and beaches. Sometimes families combine a Naming Ceremony with a birthday celebration, and often three or four generations of a family are involved in the ceremony. They are very happy, memorable and joyful occasions.
Here are some words that people have used to describe me as a Humanist Naming Celebrant:
“joyful - warm - fun - caring - creative”
If these words resonate with you, please feel free to give me a call to discuss some ideas for a Naming Ceremony for your little one.
I look forward to chatting with you!
PS: I am also a Wedding Celebrant, a retired Airport Director, a keen sailor, a cyclist and an artist.
