I was inspired to become a Humanist Celebrant after being “blown away” by a Humanist Wedding in Scotland. Not literally blown away - on this particular day in March it was warm and sunny, with snow on the mountain tops and the ceremony took place in a forest – it was magical.
It was like no wedding I had been to before. It was joyful, funny, emotional, creative, beautiful and very memorable.
I now feel very lucky and honoured to be a Humanist Wedding Celebrant, to help couples create their own very special and unique non-religious Wedding Ceremonies.
The Ceremonies that I create are all different – they are tailor-made for the individuals concerned. The designing of the Ceremony is done together and is part of the joy and excitement of getting married. Some ceremonies are very formal and reflect the seriousness of the occasion whilst others are more light-hearted and fun. However, all ceremonies reflect the character and wishes of those involved.
I believe that a wedding ceremony should be unique – not just a standard civil or religious ceremony with your names placed in the gaps. I am pleased to say that a Humanist Ceremony can include traditions and rituals that make the occasion familiar and special and we can draw on a range of ideas to match personal taste.
The Wedding Ceremonies that I conduct can take place anywhere - from a vineyard to a forest, hotel, marquee or private garden. Some ceremonies are held inside and others outside - the choice is yours.
Here are some words that people have used to describe me as a Humanist Wedding Celebrant:
“warm, caring, fun, creative and professional”
If these words resonate with you, please feel free to give me a call to tell me all about your lovely news and your hopes for your special day.
I look forward to chatting with you!
PS: I am also a Naming Celebrant, a retired Airport Director, a keen sailor, a cyclist and an artist.
