Hi, I'm Hope

As a Humanist wedding celebrant trained and accredited by Humanists UK, I am authorised to conduct legal weddings anywhere in Northern Ireland, but also delighted to travel across the UK and the Republic of Ireland – and even further afield upon request – to help you celebrate your love, with the legal paperwork completed separately.

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. A Humanist wedding offers a personal, non-religious ceremony that places your love story at the very heart of the celebration – “your wedding, your way, without compromise”. Every ceremony I conduct is bespoke, after getting to know you through a detailed planning process. Together, we’ll create a personal ceremony that reflects your values, your style, and your unique relationship.

Whether you envision a ceremony that is intimate and heartfeltjoyful and laughter-filled, or rich with symbolic traditions, I’ll work with you to bring it to life. You might choose to exchange vows and rings or incorporate meaningful rituals such as handfasting, candle lighting, or even a tree-planting ceremony. I deeply appreciate the historical and emotional significance behind rituals, and I welcome inspiration from a wide range of cultures, traditions, and ideas, always with respect and inclusivity at the core.

Humanist celebrants believe in celebrating diversityembracing difference, and being open and curious about what makes each couple’s love unique. I care greatly about crafting a ceremony that exceeds your expectations – one where everyone feels welcomed, included, and moved no matter their own beliefs.

In addition to weddings, I also offer vow renewal ceremonies – beautiful opportunities to reflect on the journey you’ve shared, celebrate what you’ve achieved together, and affirm your continuing commitment in front of those who matter most.

My role is to support you in creating a wedding ceremony that is meaningful, memorable, and unmistakably yours. With flexibility, creativity, and care, I’ll help you shape a celebration that is led by your love story and truly reflects who you are, together.

HUMANIST CEREMONIES™ is the network of more than 550 celebrants, trained by national charity Humanists UK to a gold standard to provide memorable and meaningful humanist ceremonies to non-religious people. Operating throughout England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, we deliver authentic, tailor-made and heartfelt ceremonies for life’s key moments. They are always inclusive and welcoming, regardless of the beliefs of those attending.

You can trust Humanist Ceremonies celebrants: We are DBS-checked, fully insured, and regularly peer reviewed for quality assurance. We are committed to a code of conduct, and have a transparent and robust complaints process in the rare case of a problem. We all pay a monthly fee to Humanists UK to further support the work of the charity, and are part of a regional network for like-minded celebrants for support and learning.
